Kids Say the Darndest Things

In baby blogs, I will be sharing short thoughts related to my teaching day and outlook on life.

First, I just have to share our reading teacher's precious moment.  Mrs. Thompson is a veteran teacher who has a daughter that now works as a substitute teacher in the district.  On Friday, Ms. Thompson  was in our building.  During reading, a second grader said to Mrs. Thompson.  "You know, Mrs. Thompson, you really should have named your daughter something different.  It is confusing to us to have two Ms. Thompson's!"

This reminded me of my funniest elementary student moment.

I was standing in the doorway of the gym.  Down the very end of the hall was one of my kindergarten students.  He started waving and shouting "Jim, hey, Jim!"  I looked up and down the hall.  No one was around but me.  That's when it dawned on me that I was, JIM!  He figured that since his teacher said,"We're going to Gym," and I was always there when he got there, I must be Jim!  Makes perfect sense!

Please share your adorable moments!
